John Firsts

Little John was a skeleton for his very first Halloween.

In other news...
John started giving kisses, pulls himself up on EVERYTHING, cruises along the furniture, fights sleep like no one's business, his favorite movie is Cars (STILL), and today he started saying "Ka" everytime he sees Lightning McQueen, who in our house is better known as Ka-chow Ka-chow.
(This boy is growing up way to fast for my liking!!)

GEORGIA!

I think the title of this post really does speak for itself. In the past two months so much really has changed...

1. I am now 22 years old! I can't believe I am 22. I can't wait to share this next year of life with my favorite two boys.

2. We have relocated ourselves. We made the move with 2 cars, all our belongings, and one 5-month-old baby from Provo, Utah back home to GEORGIA! It was a terribly long move and I was sick nearly the whole trip, but we made it. We are THRILLED to be back around both of our families. There's nothing like southern hospitality.

3. Our previously mentioned 5-month-old baby will be SEVEN months old in less than a week. John Cooper is starting to fall asleep for naps by himself. He has mastered rolling over from back to tummy and then from tummy to back. He can not only sit up all by himself, but he can go from laying down to sitting up all by himself. He is eating solids, drinking juice regularly, and is now drinking whole milk (Thanks to a serious intolerance to EVERY type of formula). As a result of the new diet, our little man is no longer spitting up! John has also started crawling, and just yesterday I caught him trying to pull himself up to stand.

uoui

John recently started laughing, but other than that, I don't really have a whole lot else to blog about. Since this is a new thing for John, I asked him how he feels about this new development.

Q: So, how does it feel to be able to laugh now?
A: 08ivhffgv btttggggggggggggggnjpkonjjjjjjjjjjjm o, tghjuik;.
(John did, in fact, type his answer. He also loved every second of pounding on the keyboard.)

A New Friend

Now that John has better hand coordination he's able to "play" with his toys, blankets, pretty much anything he can get his hands on. I have a feeling that these two will someday be an inseparable pair...

I sure do love that boy!

Food Monster...

If I was to rate John's level of patience when it comes to food on a scale of 1 to 10 he would be at a -5. Let me explain...

Recently John has discovered how hands work. He realizes that he can use them to pull things toward his face and into his mouth, mostly this has just been his blanket. He has also started to put his hands on his bottle in an attempt to hold it himself, and he will sometimes actually get so frustrated that I'm holding it that he will pull my hands away. The problem with this is that his coordination isn't developed enough that he can hold it by himself all the way yet, so I normally have to lay him down and prop up his bottle. I keep a watchful eye on him, I promise. Now, when we were still in the hospital he wasn't a very good eater, at all. When we got home that all changed. He started eating like it was going out of style. His love of food combined with his newly-discovered hands have led to what I discovered him doing today: he has started using his hands to try to push his bottle farther into his mouth in an attempt to eat faster. I have a food-monster which isn't a huge problem now, but I fear how this will go once he is a growing teenager...

Mother's Day Followup

My very first Mother's Day has come and gone, so I thought that I would post it's happenings since I believe it was the best ever!

Cade made me dinner. He always makes me dinner, and since I can't cook, I always appreciate it. On special occasions though, it's a really good dinner. He made fish which since I was pregnant I have absolutely LOVED. (For those of you who don't know, I absolutely hated all sorts of seafood before. My liking of sushi was actually the first clue that I was pregnant. Thanks John!) On our anniversary it was catfish - this time it was COD. Let me just say while it was extremely delicious Cod stinks. It has that gross fishy smell and now my house smells like fish... ew.

Now, since John is only 12 weeks old, I expected nothing from him except his usual cuteness, however, in good baby fashion he surprised me. Saturday morning he rolled over onto his side by himself, so we expected that he would be rolling over in the next couple days. Sunday morning we were having our normal morning family time hanging out in bed for a little while and he rolled all the way over on his tummy! That alone was a pretty good present - his first time rolling over by himself. Little did I know, he had another surprise in store. Later on he gave me the best present I could have asked for - his first laugh! This laugh was complete with the hiccups which coincidentally happen to his Daddy every time he laughs. It's quite possibly the best thing I've heard, tied, of course, with the first time we heard his heartbeat.

I love my boys!

Mother's Day

Since Mother's Day is on Sunday and I don't plan on ever
posting on the weekends, I'm going to do this today. A thank you letter to my son who gives me a reason to celebrate this day.

Dear John,

You will forever be my first son, my first baby. Tomorrow you are TWELVE weeks old. Just 12 weeks ago you were still kicking and squirming around in my belly determined to set your own schedule, and then, you were born - February 13, 2010
at 2:33AM - more beautiful than I ever imagined. That day, aside from the day that Daddy and I were sealed for time and all eternity, was the best day of my life. That was the day I finally got to look you in the eyes. That was the day I finally got to hold you in my arms. That was the day I became someone's mom - yours. Your life, your smile, your tiny fingers and toes, your cry that sounds like "Ma Ma", most especially this face:
You, you are the reason I am celebrating Mother's Day this year - you who has made my life just a little more complete. I love you, my baby.

Love, Mommy

It's about time...

I've been procrastinating on actually starting this for over a year now. Every excuse I had always seemed good enough, but now I stay home all day with John. Sure, I occasionally clean various parts of the house and obviously take care of the baby, but who am I kidding? I totally have time to do this now. So, I'm diving in and vowing to post at least once a week. I, Tabitha Robertson, do solemnly swear... You get the idea.

So to update you all on our lives:

Cade and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary YESTERDAY! I'm still in shock it's been that long!! He changed all the diapers for the day and made me an awesome dinner!

I am now a stay at home mom and I absolutely love it. There really is no better job than being home all day with my little man. That's pretty much all I do. I'm super-mom. What can I say?

Cade finally got a new job! He as well as myself are out of our minds excited to finally be done with StoresOnline. He now works in Inside Sales at Pinnacle Security. It's an off-shift, but it's working awesomely for us. He's doing really well, and John and I (okay, mostly me) are thrilled for him.

Mr. John Cooper made his appearance almost THREE MONTHS ago! My little man is growing up way too fast!! He's been the perfect addition to our little family. We think he is absolutely perfect. He was born February 13, 2010 at 2:33AM. He weighed EIGHT pounds and was 20 1/2 inches long. We got to bring him home on Valentine's Day! He's been smiling, "talking", sitting (with a little help), eating and... the list just goes on and on. We're completely obsessed and totally in love.

I can't think of anything else yet, but I'm sure there will be more soon! Until then, enjoy this picture of John sitting! :)
